We're looking for a backend developer to design and build the server-side logic, databases, and APIs that power our web applications. Working from wherever you're most productive, you'll own performance, security, and scalability while collaborating closely with front-end engineers across a distributed team.
What you'll do
- Build and maintain server-side applications and APIs in Node.js, Python, or PHP.
- Design and optimize SQL and NoSQL database schemas for efficient storage and retrieval.
- Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms.
- Integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic alongside front-end developers.
- Diagnose and resolve performance and reliability issues in backend systems.
- Write clean, well-documented code and take part in code reviews.
What we're looking for
- Proven backend experience with a portfolio and a strong backend language (Node.js, Python, or PHP).
- Hands-on experience with frameworks like Express, Django, Flask, or Laravel.
- Solid grasp of database design across SQL and NoSQL systems.
- Experience building and integrating RESTful APIs.
- Comfort with Git and collaborative development workflows.
- Strong problem-solving skills and awareness of server security and data protection.
